Since 1997, electric rates were capped under the Electricity Generation Choice and Competition Act.  Over the past few years, select service areas have already had their electric rate caps lifted, while by January 1, 2011 all service area caps are set to expire.  When these caps expire, many customers may see an increase in the price of their services as generation supply costs comprise the majority of the average electric bill.  However, the lifting of the rate caps also gives you, the consumer, the ability to choose your electric generation supplier (EGS).  In doing so, you can secure rates below the prices being offered by your current utility.  However, the energy market is not easily navigated.  To ensure you secure the lowest rate possible, you will need a company that understands the market, knows the regulations, and possess the technology to ensure a streamlined, efficient process.  ClearChoice Energy is that company.

Act 129 Demand Response Program From FirstEnergy's PA Utilities PDF Print E-mail

Organizations across Pennsylvania are dealing with underfunding and budget shortfalls more often than ever. These budget issues lead to tough calls on funding and employment levels.  Many organizations have enrolled in programs such as PJM’s Demand Response to produce additional revenue.

Last spring they signed NCC up for ClearChoice Energy Electric Demand Response Program. "We promised that if PPL ran into a problem providing electricity during times of peak demand during the summer, NCC would be among the organizations that helped out by reducing consumption," Culp explains.
